Custom Historical Trim and Cabinetry
We use historical and modern techniques to carefully replicate, repair or restore historical woodworking in old buildings.

Window and Door Restoration
We restore historic windows and doors, using traditional methods and materials.

Log Building Restoration
We have extensive experience preserving log structures. This includes replacing logs, dissembling and moving cabins and adding siding to protect the original logs.
Photo: Poplar siding has carefully applied to Keener Log Cabin in order to protect the historic logs for future generations to enjoy. A ramp was also added to the porch to make the building wheelchair accessible.
Timber Framing
We can restore timber frame buildings or adapt them for new uses.
This is one of Architectural Reclamation's earliest projects. This barn was carefully numbered, taken down, moved and reassembled in a new location.
Historical Structural Repairs
We work with engineers to come up with creative, minimally intrusive structural repairs to make old buildings safe for modern use.
Photo: This timber frame barn was hit by a car. We removed the portion of the post that could not be saved and used modern lumber to support it.
Museum Projects
Architectural Reclamation has worked with many local museums, historical societies and nature centers to care for their historic buildings and meet unique needs of public spaces.
Photo: We worked extensively on the restoration of the Stowe House Museum in Cincinnati. We worked cooperatively with other contractors to place the custom windows, restore the floors, banister, trim and plaster walls and ceiling in this photo.
Historical Roofing
We have extensive experience in installing cedar shake, EnviroShake and standing seam and snap lock roofs.
Photo: A brand new cedar shake roof on one of the picnic shelters at Carillon Park. This one was a particular challenge because of many unique cuts required to get the octagon shape just right.
Historical Building Energy Efficiency Adaptations
Historic buildings can be notoriously cold and drafty; we can help to find creative solutions to increase energy efficiency.

Consultations and Plans
We frequently do consultations with clients to help determine the scope of a project. We can work with the owner and an engineer to complete drawings and proposals.
